Welcome to Ohio Advantage. Our goal is to provide the best information for Ohio casinos. This includes the types of games offered and amenities like dining and entertainment.

Ohio Advantage has many sections that cover casinos in the state. This includes pages dedicated to each gaming property, surveys that cover blackjack and other tables, and a live poker room directory.

The minimum age for Ohio casino patrons is 21. Casinos and racinos are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Ohio Casinos

There are two types of casinos in Ohio. The four largest cities – Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus and Toledo – each have one full-service casino. These properties offer slots, video poker, live table games, electronic table games and poker rooms. Games like poker, blackjack, craps, roulette and baccarat are played at full-service Ohio casinos.

The other type of casino is at the state’s seven horse racing tracks. These are video lottery establishments with up to 2,500 machines. The only types of machines permitted at racetracks are video slots, reels and keno. These properties also have live racing and simulcast betting.

The four destination casinos in Ohio are Hard Rock Cincinnati, Hollywood Casino Columbus, Hollywood Casino Toledo and JACK Cleveland. The seven video lottery racinos in Ohio are Belterra Park, Eldorado Scioto Downs, Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway, Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course, JACK Thistledown Racino, MGM Northfield and Miami Valley Gaming.

Ohio Table Game Survey

There are 14 non-blackjack table games dealt at Ohio’s full-service casinos. We list all of them in our Ohio Table Game Survey. The data includes the expected minimum bet for the table and any relevant rules, like the type of pai gow poker game dealt and craps odds.

Ohio poker rooms

All four major casinos in Ohio have a poker room. Our Ohio poker room section covers the types of cash games dealt, including permitted buy-ins, tournament information, the number of players seated per table, and the current promotions offered by each of the four poker rooms.

Ohio sports betting

Ohio sportsbooks are not legal. However, it seems like that is only a matter of time. Ohioans may be able to place bets at a casino or on mobile apps in the coming years. This section follows the path to Ohio sports betting legalization.

Other forms of legalized gambling in Ohio

Ohio offers several forms of legalized gambling beyond casinos. There is live horse racing, simulcast betting, a state lottery and charitable gaming that includes bingo, raffles and poker. The minimum age for these forms of gambling is 18 in Ohio.
